New Delhi. A 1992-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Gopal Baglay has been appointed as the new Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
He replaces Vikas Swarup, who has been appointed as Indian High Commissioner to Canada.
Soon after officially assuming the charge, Mr Baglay took to the social media platform and said in a tweet: “Delighted to take over as official spokesperson. Hope to have your cooperation in continuing the high traditions set by my predecessors.”
Prior to taking over as Spokesperson, Mr Baglay was Joint Secretary in the MEA.
