Change of Guard at Coast Guard Regional HQs

NEW DELHI. On May 19, Inspector General Kuldip Singh Sheoran took over the helm of Coast Guard Region (NE) from IG KR Nautiyal, who has been transferred to Mumbai as Coast Guard Commander (West) after a two year stint at Kolkata.

The Coast Guard Region (NE) saw massive expansion during Nautiyal’s tenure with addition of new assets, commissioning of Coastal RADAR system, etc. The first ever Indo-Bangla joint Search and Rescue Mission which resulted in saving of 360 precious lives at sea was also undertaken under his able guidance.

IG Kuldip Singh Sheoran who joined the Indian Coast Guard in 1984 has also served in various sea and shore appointments. On attaining the Flag rank, he was at the helm of Regional Headquarters (North West) and (A&N), one of the strategically significant Regions of Indian Coast Guard.

Both Flag Officers are recipients of the prestigious PTM (President’s Tatrakshak Medal) and TM (Tatrakshak Medal).
