Annual Command Meeting, Southern Naval Command

New Delhi, October 11, 2017: The Annual Command Meeting (ACM) of Southern Naval Command (SNC) for 2017 was held on 10 Oct at Naval Base, Kochi. The meeting was chaired by Vice Admiral AR Karve, AVSM, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief (FOC-in-C), Southern Naval Command and attended by Senior Officers, Commanding Officers, Officers-in-Charge and Directors of ships, establishments, training schools and Units of SNC. Various issues concerning operations, administration, and maintenance were discussed during the meeting.

On this occasion, the Admiral also presented awards for outstanding achievements to meritorious establishments. INS Valsura was presented with ‘Dakshin Nausena Kaman Raja Bhasha Rolling Trophy’ for best implementation of official language (Hindi) in day to day working, with INS Chilka receiving the Runners Up trophy. The FOC-in-C (South) Rolling Trophy for Best Green Practices’ was awarded to Naval Aircraft Yard (NAY), Kochi under ‘Industrial Unit’ category and to INS Shivaji under ‘Non-Industrial Unit’ category.

The ACM is an annual activity at all Commands of the Indian navy wherein a stock taking of all the issues concerning the units of the respective Commands is carried out for analysis and course correction if any.
