By Sujay Mehdudia October 2017

MANAMA (Bahrain): Accusing Iran of playing a destructive role in the region and creating different hots spots which promote terrorism and terror related activities, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bahrain Middle East Military Alliances and Coalitions (MEMAC) on Sunday said state sponsored terrorism in the region is of international concern and the same would come up for discussions during the three-day Bahrain International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BIDEC) 2017 beginning tomorrow.

Referring to role of Iran in the region, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said the United States was also closely watching the role of Iran which is undermining the security in the region. “Iran continues to be play difficult and is backing terror forces in regions like Yemen, Syria and other places which is unacceptable. This has become an issue of concern for the international community,” he added.

He said the three-day conference would also focus on Islamic military counter terrorism partnerships and how to take them forward for enhancing security and peace in the region. All the major stakeholders will meet to address common challenges faced by them and come to an understanding to forge a common alliance and vision, he remarked.
