New Delhi. President Pranab Mukherjee has appointed Alka Sirohi, Member, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to perform the duties of the post of Chairman, UPSC with effect from September 21.
The appointment is till further orders or till completion of her term as Member on January 3, 2017, whichever is earlier, a communique said September 17.
The post of Chairman, UPSC falls vacant on 20.09.2016, consequent upon demitting of office by Mr Deepak Gupta on attaining 65 years of age.
