Farewell Visit of Chief of Naval Staff to Kochi Concludes

Kochi. Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) and Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) accompanied by Mrs. Reena Lanba, President, Naval Wives Welfare association (NWWA) departed Kochi in the afternoon, on 07 May on conclusion of their three day farewell visit to Southern Naval Command (SNC).

The Admiral during his visit inaugurated the “Open Air Gymnasium” at Officer’s residential area, Katari Bagh, on 06 May and a new residential building “Lavanya” for the naval personnel on 07 May besides visited the mega Water Purification plant set up at Sailor’s residential area, Rameshwaram. He also visited the different training units of SNC at Kochi such as Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology (NIAT), Navigation and Direction School, Anti-submarine Warfare School and Signal School where the Admiral cherished the memories of various training phases since his Commission in the Indian Navy.

The CNS also addressed the Officers and men of the Southern Naval Command and held interactions with the Defence civilians at Kochi before his departure.
