Lockheed Martin’s
advanced technology F-16IN and the C-130J Super Hercules are the right choices
to meet or exceed India’s defense requirements. The F-16IN is specifically
designed to meet or exceed India’s MMRCA [Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft] requirements
and provide even greater front-line capability with bottom line reliability. The
F-16 is the most proven multi role fighter available today. It has logged millions
of flight hours under the full range of climatic conditions and operational environments
and has forged unsurpassed successful partnerships. Assembly lines producing
the F-16 have been established successfully in five countries, including the United
States, Turkey, Korea, Belgium and The Netherlands. Involvement in F-16 coproduction
has served as a major catalyst to create and energize the aerospace industries
in these countries. Lockheed Martin has proven its ability to provide technology
transfer which enables F-16IN self sufficiency and low risk indigenous production.
As a result of proven experience and aggressive technology development, the F-16IN
will include advanced technologies including an all-glass cockpit with large,
fullcolor displays; powerful high- speed mission computer; proven active electronically
scanned array radar and electronic warfare suite; net-centric warfare capability;
and an enhanced high-thrust engine. 24 nations have chosen the F-16 as
their front-line multi role fighter with 52 follow-on buys. This makes the F-16
the most successful multi role fighter aircraft program in history. The
C-130J Super Hercules program has experienced tremendous success in the recent
past as the airlifter’s capabilities have been proven in special missions, humanitarian
relief and military operations worldwide. In fact, in a breakthrough deal with
the U.S., India recently signed an agreement to receive six C-130J Super Hercules,
the world’s most advanced and agile tactical airlifter. With its heavy
lift capability, advanced cockpit avionics and unmatched versatility in adverse
terrain and flying conditions, the C-130J Super Hercules can meet or exceed India’s
unique requirements for an advanced tactical air lifter. The C-130J builds
on the C-130’s long record of service and reliability. It has state-of-the-art
features including a glass cockpit, updated propulsion system and other improvements.
The longer version of the aircraft, the C-130J-30, can carry a 25,000 pound payload
more than 3,700 nautical miles unrefueled. |
