Agilent Technologies, a measurement products
manufacturing major, launched seven new products
and solutions at the global annual trade mark
event, ‘Aerospace and Defense Symposium 2011’.
“We are targetting the fast growing Aerospace
and Defence market in India that has flashed its
credentials in recent big ticket defence deals
and indigenous satellite programmes. Now that
the thrust of the present political dispensation
is on indigenous research and manufacturing, and
a tempting scale of subsidy tagging it, we are
bracing ourselves to make the most of the situation
in India,“ said Country Manager and Vice- President
(Sales) Arun Dogra, Agilent Technologies .
The M8190A arbitrary waveform generator can deliver
simultaneous high resolution and wide bandwidth
along with industry-leading spuriousfree dynamic
range and very low harmonic distortion.“Testing
is important to judge the accuracy and efficacy
of a system, which is where we come into being.
Our target areas include radar and electronic
warfare, military application satellites, avionics,
guidance, navigation and surveillance and intelligence
coding/ decoding,” said Dogra.
8990B, a peak power analyzer offers faster measurement
speed and greater measurement accuracy in peak
power-pulse analysis for the aerospace, defense
and wireless markets.
“We aim to set up test labs and certification
labs here which would give boost to defence electronics
and electronics market in the country. We are
aiming for a 200 US dollars million target in
India this fiscal, after a US $140 million turnover
last year. A 30 per cent growth was the course
for us, but with a friendlier offset policy the
leap could be phenomenal,” he added.
LTE-Advanced is an evolution of LTE. It is initially
being specified as part of Release 10 of the 3GPP
specification.“Our focus is primarily on Defence
Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in
India, but our products will also help he Border
Security Force (BSF), the Central Reserve Police
Force (CRPF) and the Wireless Police of the states
in equipping itself better on the safety and security
aspect with its innovative technology,’’ Dogra
said.
The N9344C and N9343C handheld spectrum analyzers
(HSAs), two field-ready instruments designed for
technicians and engineers who install, maintain
and troubleshoot RF/microwave systems.
“Electronic measurement revenues were up 19
percent over a year ago. Orders were up 15 percent
and revenues were up 26 percent excluding the
effects of the Network Solutions divestiture.
The business saw solid revenue growth across the
communications market and all other market segments,”
he added.
Dogra stressed that Agilent has been supporting
the growth of the Indian technology sector by
associating with all the core sectors of the country
and will continue to reinforce the same by providing
critically enabling technologies to customers
that will make them win in their markets.
