This aircraft, like its five predecessors, was
delivered ahead of schedule and under budget,
said Lockheed Martin, which manufactures the aircraft.
The aircraft will be based at Hindon Air Station
on the outskirts of the Indian capital, where
facilities for training and maintenance support
have been set up under the associated offsets
programme. The five C 130Js already received are
fully operational in supporting the armed forces
across the country and even those hit by disaster
in the north-eastern states.
