The 2010 edition of Malabar was held from April 23 to May 2 and four warships, one submarine and few aircraft from each side participated.

On his six-day visit to India Admiral Roughead, the chief of Naval operations of the US Navy, held meeting with defence minister A K Antony, Indian Navy chief Admiral Nirmal Verma, IAF chief Air Chief Marshal P V Naik and Indian Army chief General V K Singh and defence secretary Pradeep Kumar.

Admiral Roughead also visited various naval ships and establishments in Mumbai, Goa and Kochi.

Since 1995, naval cooperation between the two navies has been growing steadily.
