Honeywell Synthetic Vision Systems and Enhanced Map Features now Available for GulfStream GIV and GV Operators

PlaneDeck SV enhancements help improve flight safety and reduce pilot workload

Delhi, India, November 1st, 2016 – Honeywell is offering the latest cockpit safety technologies to Gulfstream operators to modernize their aircraft and enhance safety. Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for enhanced features were recently received from the Federal Aviation Administration for Gulfstream PlaneDeck cockpits on the GIV and GV. The latest suite of upgrades will increase crew situational awareness through the integration of synthetic vision with charts and maps, video capability, and the XM ground-based weather displayed on PlaneDeck LCD flight displays.

PlaneDeck SV synthetic vision provides a 3-D color image of runways, terrain and obstacles, giving pilots an “out-the-window” view of the flight path. The increased level of situational awareness, which is particularly useful in unfamiliar locations, bad weather and at night, helps reduce errors as well as a pilot’s workload. Honeywell pioneered the synthetic vision system, which has firmly established itself as one of the best safety features a business jet can have.

In addition to synthetic vision, the latest suite of upgrades also adds Traffic Collision Avoidance System symbology and XM weather information to PlaneDeck SV’s enhanced Moving Map Display as an additional overlay improving the flight crew’s situational awareness and safety of flight.
