Agniveers Passing out Parade held at ASC Centre & College, Bengaluru

  • Agnipath is a game changer scheme for the Armed Forces which is going to act as force multiplier in making Indian military as one of the best in the world with youthful, high-tech and ultra-modern outlook
  • ‘Agniveers’ are not only ‘Surakshaveers’ of Nation, but also ‘Samriddhiveers’ contributing to the Nation’s prosperity
  • The Passing out Parade is a momentous occasion for the trainees and a proud moment for their families.

Bengaluru, August 4. The Agnipath Scheme aims at maintaining the profile of Indian Armed Forces as youthful as the profile of wider Indian Population.

It aims at providing an opportunity to the youth, who are keen to don the Uniform by attracting young talent from the society, who are more in tune with contemporary technological trends and would in return plough back skilled, disciplined and motivated productive youths into the Society, after completion of their Four years tenure with the Armed Forces.

This leads to the availability of Highly Skilled and a youthful workforce not only to the Society, but the Nation at large.

The Passing out Parade of 756 Agniveers from all Arms and Services, who have been recruited into the Indian Army as part of the Agnipath Scheme, was held at Army Service Corps & College, ASC Centre (South) Parade Ground, in Bengaluru.

This passing out of the Agniveers post successful completion of ab-initio training – a significant landmark towards a new beginning for the Armed Forces and the Nation.

The Passing out Parade marked the culmination of their Military training that not only imparted, but also enhanced the intellectual and moral capabilities of the Agniveers, which is most essential for the Armed Forces.

This was evidently visible in the smart turnout and spectacular display of drill by the newly inducted Agniveers.

It was also a momentous and an occasion of pride for the families of these young men, who were present to witness grand parade, and see their wards going ahead in safeguarding the Nation.

Lt. Gen. BK Repswal, AVSM, VSM, Commandant ASC Centre & College, who reviewed the Parade said that it was a matter of great pride that the first batch of Agniveers, who had successfully completed their 31 weeks of vigorous training has attained this moment of glory with hard work, dedication, enthusiasm and passion.

This, beyond doubt, will be recorded in the golden page of the history of the Armed Forces, Gen. Repswal said.

The General urged the youth to take oath to serve this great nation with dedication, honesty, integrity and be always ready to sacrifice themselves, for the nation’s cause.

The Lt. General also expressed his admiration to the parents of the Agniveers, acknowledging their sacrifice to the Country and for raising these men of honour, who are all set to be part of one of the strongest Armed Forces in the world.

As part of the display of physical and military skills, the passing out parade was followed by ASC “Tornadoes” Motorcycle team, displaying their daredevilry and coordination skills, leaving the audience in awe.

Next came the Taekwondo display, which brought to the fore the skills and power of self-discipline and arduous close combat training.

The final event was marked by a scintillating physical training display where the recruits exhibited their prowess on the ground, in the air, leaping and jumping through the ring of fire, displaying their athleticism and mental robustness, a cynosure of the Indian Army.
