Vietjet enhances fleet efficiency with the arrival of 105th aircraft

Ho Chi Minh City, February 18. Vietjet further grows its world’s leading modern fleet with the delivery of a brand-new Airbus aircraft from Hamburg to Ho Chi Minh City. The addition of the fuel-efficient A321neo ACF totals the carrier’s fleet to 105.

The new aircraft arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport is the airline’s latest step to boost passenger’s flying experience while reducing environmental footprint. The A321neo ACF is the world’s leading modern generation of Airbus, saving fuel up to 20%, reducing emissions to the environment by up to 50% and significantly reducing noise by up to 75%. In 2019, Vietjet became the first airline in the world to operate the specially-designed cabin format of A321neo ACF.

Recently, the airline has taken step to expand the fleet by adding back-to-back new Airbus Neo aircraft to its fleet. Heading towards to the year of Dragon, these new aircraft will bring new resource and momentum for the airline’s readiness in flight network expansion strategy with many more new destinations. In early February, Vietjet also added 6 wet-leased aircraft to the current fleet to meet customers’ travel demands of the Lunar New Year holidays.

The 105th aircraft will be put into operation on routes connecting destinations in Vietnam and internationally to Australia, India, China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, etc.

Vietjet last year continues to grow its flight network with 33 new international and domestic routes, bringing the total number of routes to 125, including 80 international and 45 domestic routes. The airline has transported over 185 million passengers across the globe.
