Boeing to Highlight Partnerships, Sustainability and Growing Presence in Latin America at FIDAE 2024

  • An Arajet 737 MAX to be on static display

  • The company will also highlight the P-8A Poseidon, T-7 trainer, CH-47 and ScanEagle

  • With focus on aviation decarbonization goals, Boeing will join IATA Wings of Change conference

SANTIAGO, Chile, April 3. Boeing will highlight its commercial, defense and support services along with advanced systems and capabilities at FIDAE 2024, April 9-14. With a focus on sustainable aerospace, the company aims to strengthen partnerships and promote innovation in sustainability and efficiency.

“We are excited to be part of FIDAE once again. This premiere aerospace show, which brings together the industry in the region and beyond, is an opportunity to showcase our initiatives, products and services in the commercial and defense markets and sustainability,” said Landon Loomis, President of Boeing for Latin America and the Caribbean and vice president of Global Policy.

Visitors can find Boeing at exhibit Hall C, stall C6, chalets B4-B6. Boeing’s presence in Latin America is significant, with over 90 years of history and a strong partnership with the region.

With about 700 commercial jets in service in the region, Boeing offers a comprehensive range of products and services that deliver unparalleled flexibility, reliability and efficiency, including the Arajet 737 MAX on static display at FIDAE. Boeing has forecast a need for 2,105 new commercial airplanes in Latin America and the Caribbean in the next 20 years, creating demand for 128,000 new pilots, cabin crew and aerospace technicians.

With defense products, Boeing has been present in Latin America since 1932, when it delivered the first F4B-4 fighter aircraft to the Brazilian Armed Forces. Since then, Boeing has supplied VIP aircraft, defense systems, satellites and UAVs to militaries in the region. Boeing’s exhibit will also highlight the P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, T-7A Advanced Pilot Training System, CH-47 Chinook helicopter and ScanEagle unmanned aerial system.

Boeing’s commitment to Latin America expands beyond aerospace with investments in education to inspire STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers. This includes supporting programs like the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) to enhance student performance and teacher development.

Boeing also will participate in IATA’s Wings of Change conference on April 10-11 at the Sheraton Santiago Hotel & Convention Center, in Santiago.

Loomis will join the panel “Joint Industry and Government Vision: How can aviation in Latin America reach Net Zero in a sustainability way?”

Otávio Cavalett, Global Sustainability Policy and Partnerships regional lead, Latin America, will join the panel “New technologies and emerging efforts to support aviation decarbonization.”
