PM Narendra Modi Government’s Major initiatives in First 100 Days of Modi 3.0

New Delhi, September 16. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has seen significant progress in governance and development, with the country experiencing a range of policy initiatives and improvements in the business environment as the PM Narendra Modi led Union Government completes 100 days of its third term.

In the initial 100 days of the ‘Modi 3.0’ administration, the government has displayed confidence and a proactive approach in implementing its significant agenda.

G-7 Summit to Russia, Ukraine Visit: PM’s Key Foreign Engagements

From beginning his third term with a foreign policy push at the G7 Summit in Italy to significant visits to Russia and Ukraine during the conflict and a first-ever bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Brunei are the key international engagements of PM Narendra Modi in the first 100 days of Modi 3.0.

The 50th G7 Summit was held from June 13-15 in Apulia, Italy. PM Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with major world leaders.

PM Modi visited Russia on July 8 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin to hold the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit.

The Prime Minister held talks with President Vladimir Putin during which entire gamut of bilateral relations including trade and defence deals were discussed.

PM Modi was also awarded the Russia’s highest civilian honour, the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, during his visit to the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modilater, also visited Ukraine on August 23 on the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

PM Modi’s visits to Singapore and Brunei in September marked the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Modi was on a two-day visit at the invitation of his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong.

The Prime Minister arrived in Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei on an official visit on September 3 at the invitation of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. It was the first-ever bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Brunei. The historic visit of Prime Minister coincided with the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Brunei.

PM Modi visited Poland on August 21-22 at the invitation of his Polish counterpart, Donald Tusk. During his visit, he held meetings with his Polish counterpart and the President, and also engaged with the Indian community.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Austria on July 10.

India hosted the third ‘Voice of the Global South’ Summit on August 18 with over 120 countries participating.

For the first time, India hosted the UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting. The inauguration of the World Heritage Committee session took place on July 21 at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.

Modi’s 3.0: Nation marks significant strides in infrastructure, business reforms, and development

During these 100 days, projects worth Rupees 3lakh crore were approved, primarily focusing on roads, railways, ports and airways, according to sources.

The government approved the Wadhavan Mega Port in Maharashtra for Rs 76,200 crore, which will be among the top 10 ports in the world.

Under the Prime Minister’s Rural Roads Scheme-4 (PMGSY-IV), approval was granted to the construction/upgradation of 62,500 km of roads and bridges to connect 25,000 unconnected villages, with central assistance of Rs 49,000 crore.

Many of these unconnected villages have a population of less than 100.

The government has also approved strengthening India’s road network with an investment of Rs 50,600 crore, which includes a nod to eight National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects spanning 936 km.

Modi also carried out the first blast to mark the beginning of the construction of the Shinkhun-La Tunnel, to connect Ladakh with Himachal Pradesh.

The government has approved eight new railway line projects for faster and convenient travel by train generating 44.2 mn human-days of employment.

The draft of the new National Cooperative Policy, prepared by a national-level committee, has been prepared and is being finalised.

The government has also launched a new fund named Agrisure, aimed at revolutionising the agricultural sector and supporting startups and rural enterprises.

The development of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi also gained approval during PM Modi’s first 100 days in office.

Furthermore, the government approved the construction of new civil enclaves at Bagdogra in West Bengal and Bihta in Bihar along with new airstrips at Agatti and Minicoy.

The expansion of the Phase-3 of the Bangalore Metro, Pune Metro and the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project were also approved during these 100 days.

Major initiatives taken by Modi 3.0

The government approved a combined infrastructure project worth Rs 3 lakh crore.

New airstrips construction approved at Agatti and Minicoy in Lakshadweep islands.

The government approved the expansion of Phase 3 of the Pune Metro, Bangalore Metro and the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project.

The tax-free income slab’s upper limit increased to Rs 7,00,000 through which salaried individuals can save up to Rs 17,500 in taxes.

The standard deduction has been increased to Rs 75,000 and the exemption limit for family pension has been increased to Rs 25,000.

The government will conduct a comprehensive review of income tax rules within six months to make them concise, clear, and easy to understand.

The government implemented a Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) wherein employees with 25 years of service will receive 50 per cent of their average basic salary as a pension.

The third iteration of the One Rank, One Pension scheme will be implemented for security forces and their families.

3 crore more houses approved under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’, including one crore houses under the urban scheme and two crore homes for construction in rural areas.

Solar energy systems were installed in over 2.5 lakh homes between June and August 2024 under ‘PM Surya GharMuft Bijli Yojana’.

An environmentally friendly public transport system will be developed through the ‘PM-eBusSewa’ scheme and approval has been given for the purchase of e-buses with assistance of Rs 3,400 crore.
