71st Inter Services Hockey Championship 2024-25 held at Air Force Station Jalahalli
Bengaluru, March 7. The 71st Inter Services Hockey Championship was conducted at AF Station Jalahalli from March 2-6, 2025 under the aegis of Services Sports Control Board for selection of services team for the forthcoming National Hockey Championship.
The event conducted at the station’s State of Art Astro Turf Hockey Ground, saw a spirited participation from four teams of the Indian Armed Forces, the Army Red, Army Green, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. The final match was between the teams of Indian Navy led by Chief Petty Officer Pawan Rajbhar and Indian Air Force led by Sergeant Sukhdev Singh. The Indian Navy team won the championship by 3 to 2 goals with Petty Officer R Minz and Petty Officer S Dhanwar scoring goals for the team.
Air Vice Marshal PCP Anand Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration (SOA), Headquarters Training Command, IAF who was the chief guest on the closing ceremony, awarded the Championship trophy to the winning team. He lauded the passion and sporting spirit displayed by the teams. Mr. PR Sreejesh, the revered Coach of the Indian Junior Hockey Team and a two-time Olympic Bronze medalist, was also present on the occasion. In an inspiring interaction, Mr. Sreejesh, shared his invaluable experiences and insights with the players and trainees, motivating them to strive for excellence and participate wholeheartedly in sports.
