India and US deepen aircraft carrier collaboration at 8th Joint Working Group meeting
New Delhi/Goa, May 16. India and the US have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation in aircraft carrier technology during the 8th meeting of the Joint Working Group on Aircraft Carrier Technology Cooperation (JWGACTC), held under the India-US Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI). The four-day meeting took place in New Delhi and Goa from May 13 to 16, according to a statement issued by the Defence Ministry on Tuesday.
A six-member US delegation, led by Rear Admiral Casey Moton, Program Executive Officer for Aircraft Carriers, engaged with Indian counterparts at various defence establishments. The opening session in New Delhi was co-chaired by Rear Admiral Vishal Bishnoi, Assistant Controller Carrier Projects (ACCP).
During the discussions, Rear Admiral Moton emphasized the significance of the working group and the strides it has made over the past decade. Both sides commended the substantial exchange of expertise and information enabled by the group and explored avenues for future cooperation across multiple facets of aircraft carrier technology. A joint statement outlining shared objectives was released following the meeting.
In Goa, the US delegation conducted professional exchanges with Indian Navy aviation specialists, focusing on operational and technical aspects of aircraft carrier systems. The gathering marked another milestone in the expanding India-US defence partnership, particularly in the domain of maritime capabilities.
