Indian Coast Guard conducts XVII Technical & Logistics Management Conference and Mid-Year Refit Review
New Delhi. Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully conducted the XVII Technical & Logistics Management Conference (TLMC) on 28 Nov 2025, followed by the Mid-Year Refit Review (MYRR) on November 29, 2025 at Coorg, Karnataka.
Director General Paramesh Sivamani, AVSM, PTM, TM, Director General Indian Coast Guard emphasized the Service’s transition toward data-centric technical management, underscoring the transition of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and advanced digital tools into predictive maintenance, equipment-health monitoring and logistics optimization. DGICG highlighted that the new generation ICG fleet demands a technologically proficient workforce capable of operating and sustaining state of art propulsion systems, integrated automation suites and advanced sensors.
DGICG further underlined the increasing relevance of the best in class machinery systems being installed onboard Coast Guard platforms, along with the adoption of anti-drone technology to counter low-altitude asymmetric threats. DGICG also highlighted that the Defence Procurement Manual 2025 will simplify procurement, accelerate spares provisioning and promote transparent, efficient refit processes.
The Conference, focused upon areas such as Docking Interval Rationalisation, strengthening of Tech Afloat Support Units, Multi-Refit Contract implementation, Quality Assurance during refits, Condition-Based Predictive Maintenance (CBPM) and refit-spares management. These deliberations reinforced a shift from schedule-based maintenance to performance-driven, condition-based lifecycle support.
On 29 Nov 25, Inspector General Sudhir Sahni, TM, Deputy Director General (Materiel & Maintenance) undertook Mid Year Refit Review. The Review assessed adherence to timelines, contract management, vendor performance and readiness indicators, aligning the Regional Headquarters efforts for cost-effective fleet maintenance.
DDG (M&M)called upon all formations to remain future-ready as the Indian Coast Guard moves toward its Swarnim Jayanti in 2027, with a vision to showcase a technologically advanced, indigenised and operationally superior maritime force. The Conference concluded with a reaffirmation of the ICG’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat, technological modernisation and sustained operational excellence under the motto — “Vayam Rakshamah – We Protect.”
