Timetooth Technologies launched India’s First Indigenous Certified Aircraft Passenger Seat

Hyderabad. Timetooth Technologies launched India’s first-ever certified aircraft passenger seat – the Atlura RA at Wings India 2026. The ITSO-C39c seat is certified for the HAL built Hindustan-228, delivering a 15-20% weight reduction over legacy configurations, without compromising safety margins.

Timetooth has set up production, sourcing and logistics from scratch empowering the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ movement. Aircraft seats also unlock opportunities for higher-value aerospace exports.

The Director General of Civil Aviation, Faiz Ahmed Kidwai awarded India’s first ITSO (Indian Technical Standard Order) for seating systems to Janhavi Nene, Vice President (Engineering) and head of the seats programme at Timetooth. India’s100% import dependence in a potentially $900 million aircraft seating market has been disrupted with this development.

“For decades, India has been a global aviation that remained 100% dependent on foreign imports for aircraft seating. Today, Timetooth breaks that cycle with a world class product that aligns with international benchmarks of safety and ASg100 quality stands, and is entirely Made in India from ‘concept to certification’,” said Amitav Chaudhari, Co-founder and Director at Timetooth.

Girish Mudgal, Co-founder and Director said “in aviation, the leverage does not lie in cutting the metal but in owning the type certificate. Timetooth’s vision is to build indigenous IP in aviation products like seating systems and landing gears. Leveraging our experience and expertise in simulation driven engineering, we are trying to set paradigms in aviation product design so that the world looks at us for aviation innovation and not just cost-efficient production.”

“Our certified seating solutions offer a massive business advantage to domestic and international airlines. By providing a high-quality local alternative for both line-fit and retrofit projects, we are significantly reducing lead times, eliminating heavy import duties, and offering localized lifecycle support that was previously unavailable in the Indian market. With these advantages, we are talking of almost 30-40% savings in the total cost of ownership over 10 years,” said Ashutosh Thatte, Vice President of Business Development at Timetooth.

Timetooth also launched prototypes of their upcoming seats for regional and single aisle aircraft, along with their crashworthy helicopter seats and pilot seats for urban air mobility, making it clear that they are entering the aircraft seating market with a long-term vision.
