HAL, Deccan Charters sign cooperation pact to promote Dhruv NG helicopter
HYDERABAD. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Deccan Charters Pvt Ltd have signed an Intent of Cooperation (IoC) to promote the adoption of indigenously designed and developed helicopters in India’s civil aviation market. The agreement was formalised on January 29 on the sidelines of the Wings India 2026, India’s flagship civil aviation show, in Hyderabad.
Under the cooperation, the two organizations will work together to encourage the use of HAL’s Dhruv NG helicopter for civil operations. The collaboration will focus on offering comprehensive maintenance and operational support to customers, either through leasing arrangements or direct purchase options, depending on operational requirements.
Deccan Charters, which has extensive experience in operating and maintaining the Dhruv helicopter in the Indian market, will play a key role in supporting the initiative. Alongside domestic deployment, HAL and Deccan Charters will also explore export opportunities to introduce the Dhruv NG to international markets.
The partnership is expected to strengthen the capabilities of indigenously developed helicopters and support their continuous improvement by leveraging the combined expertise of HAL in design and manufacturing and Deccan Charters in operations and maintenance.
The IoC was signed by Brigadier Devinder Singh on behalf of Deccan Charters Pvt Ltd, while HAL was represented by Tushar Behera, General Manager, Helicopter Division.
