New York/ Bengaluru, April 3, 2026: India and the United Nations have jointly reviewed the operations of the India-UN Development Partnership Fund to evaluate its effectiveness, transparency, and alignment with sustainable development objectives. The review focused on assessing ongoing projects, identifying areas for improvement, and planning future initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
Representatives from the Ministry of External Affairs and UN development agencies participated in the discussions. Officials highlighted the fund’s role in supporting projects across sectors including healthcare, education, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure. The review emphasized the importance of efficient resource allocation and timely project execution to maximize the fund’s developmental impact.
During the meeting, both sides discussed methodologies for monitoring and evaluating project outcomes. Emphasis was placed on introducing more robust reporting mechanisms, enhancing accountability, and ensuring that fund-supported initiatives produce measurable benefits for local communities.
The discussions also explored potential collaborations with state governments, civil society organizations, and private sector partners to expand the reach of fund-supported projects.
