CDS Gen Anil Chauhan reviews LoC preparedness, calls for multi-domain warfighting during visit to Chinar Corps
New Delhi, April 4. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on April 4 visited forward areas under the Chinar Corps in Srinagar, where he assessed the security situation and operational posture along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir.
During his visit, the CDS commended troops for their high level of operational preparedness, doctrinal clarity and professionalism in a sensitive theatre. At Baramulla, he received a detailed briefing on plans for future force application and the infusion of advanced technologies into operational frameworks.
Addressing officers of the formation, Gen Chauhan underlined the rapidly changing character of warfare and stressed the need to move from a traditional domain-centric approach to multi-domain operations (MDO). He emphasised that success in future conflicts would depend on seamless integration across land, air, maritime, cyber, space and cognitive domains, supported by a robust and unified architecture.
The CDS called for accelerated joint training tailored to futuristic warfare, harmonisation of doctrines and the development of interoperable command-and-control structures to ensure synchronised effects across all domains. He said such integration was essential to achieve decisive operational outcomes.
Highlighting emerging security challenges, Gen Chauhan urged the armed forces to adopt a forward-looking roadmap centred on technological adaptation, cognitive resilience and collective preparedness. He stressed that preparedness for future threats must be rooted in foresight, innovation, a unified warfighting philosophy and a whole-of-nation approach.
He exhorted all ranks to sustain operational excellence, embrace jointness as a way of life and remain ready to dominate the full spectrum of future conflict. The CDS also interacted with representatives of the civil administration and prominent local personalities in Baramulla, reviewing ongoing efforts towards nation-building in the region.
