New Delhi, Sep 24. Indian Navy warship INS Trishul arrived at Toulon, France, on September 22 to participate in the 24th edition of the bilateral maritime exercise Varuna with the French Navy, as the two countries seek to further strengthen naval cooperation and interoperability.
The exercise will feature a range of professional engagements both ashore and at sea, including cross-deck visits, operational interactions and sporting activities involving personnel from the two navies.
The engagements are expected to provide opportunities for the Indian and French navies to exchange operational experiences and best practices, enhance interoperability and deepen mutual understanding.
The participation of INS Trishul in the exercise highlights the longstanding maritime partnership between India and France and reflects the expanding scope of cooperation between their navies.
The exercise is also aimed at reinforcing the broader defence and strategic relationship between the two countries, particularly in the maritime domain.
