Agniveer Batch 5 Passing Out Parade – PRTC
Fifth batch of Agniveers of the Agnipath scheme
On April 17, the fifth batch of Agniveers of the Agnipath scheme, marched into the folds of the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Army with pride and élan. The impressive parade consisting of 440 Agniveers marked the successful culmination of the gruelling 24 weeks recruit training period. The newly attested soldiers will proceed to their respective Special Forces units of Indian Army for a further period of probation/ selection.
The parade was reviewed by Air Marshal Tejbir Singh, AVSM, VM, Senior Air Staff Officer, HQ Air Force Training Command. The Air Marshal addressed the Agniveers and exhorted them to imbibe the ethos of “Imandari, Wafadari, Bahaduri” & lead by example. The Reviewing Officer complimented the soldiers on their impressive turnout and impeccable drill.
The Parade was commanded by Agniveer Meharsh Sunil Gharat from Maharashtra. Among the award winners were Agniveer Himanshu who won the Gill Medal for overall best recruit. Commandant’s Endurance Medal for Best in Endurance was won by Agniveer Patil Sahil Sandeep. Ghadge Medal for best in Firing & weapon training was won by Agniveer Love Kumar. The Cheema Medal for Best Recruit in Physical Training was awarded to Agniveer Patil Suraj Uttam and Chhetri Medal for Best Recruit in Drill was awarded to Agniveer Meharsh Sunil Gharat.
