Commodore VMD Jagannath assumed command of INS Tunir as also charge of Senior Officer (Karanja) on August 28, 2025, at a ceremonial parade held at Naval Station Karanja. Holding a PhD in Management and an M.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur.
Cmde Jagannath has held key operational, dockyard, training and staff roles. He is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad.
