INDIAN COAST GUARD MARCHING CONTINGENT MARCHED DOWN ON KARTAVYA PATH

New Delhi, 27 Jan 2026:   The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) marching contingent, led by Assistant Commandant Nishi Sharma, and the band, led by Uttam Adhikari Pappanoor G Babu, proudly marched down Kartavya Path on 26 Jan 2026 as part of the Republic Day Parade–2026, presenting a striking spectacle of martial discipline, maritime ethos, and national pride. Dressed in immaculate ceremonial uniforms, the contingent moved in perfect synchrony, with measured strides, upright bearing, and crisp drill reflecting the highest standards of training and professionalism upheld by the ICG.

Marching with flawless precision and unshakeable pride, the Bharatiya Tatrakshak Contingent, revered as the “Sentinels of Our Seas,” advanced like a powerful and disciplined wave of resolve. Each step taken on Kartavya Path symbolised their steadfast watch over India’s vast maritime domain and their readiness to respond to any challenge at sea. Forged through relentless vigilance, arduous training, and unwavering devotion to duty, the contingent embodied the spirit of a force that stood guard over the nation’s maritime frontiers every hour of every day, through calm seas and raging storms alike.

The resonant notes of the ICG band further enhanced the grandeur of the march, lending rhythm and ceremonial splendour to the contingent’s advance. Together, the marching contingent and band showcased the cohesion, morale, and fighting spirit of the service, drawing admiration from dignitaries and spectators alike.

Guided by its proud motto, “Vayam Rakshamah – We Protect,” the men and women of the ICG marching contingent exemplified India’s maritime might and its enduring commitment to safety, security, and environmental protection. Their confident demeanour, synchronised movements, and steely resolve reflected the values of courage, discipline, and selfless service that define the force.

With steady hands and intrepid hearts, they symbolised the silent sentinels who ensured that the waters surrounding the nation remained safe, secure, and clean. Ever prepared and ever alert, the presence of the marching contingent on Kartavya Path resonated with the timeless resolve of the service, Yatra, Tatra, Sarvatra-always, everywhere, reaffirming the ICG’s unwavering pledge to protect the nation and its people from the seas.
