6th IAF Paramedical Seminar on Wellness in Armed Forces through Primary Health Care held a Medical Training Centre, Air Force
Bengaluru, August 10. Medical Training Centre (MTC), Air Force, one of the oldest training institutes of the Indian Air Force, conducted a two-day Paramedical Seminar on ‘Wellness in Armed Forces through Primary Health Care’ from August 9 to 10, 2024. The event was inaugurated by Air Marshal Rajesh Vaidya, Director General Medical Services (Air) who graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Medical Assistants from various units in Indian Army, Navy and Air Force participated in the seminar.
The seminar was aimed at providing the Medical Assistants with a comprehensive overview on the concepts of wellness and progress achieved amongst armed forces personnel and their families through various primary health care activities being conducted in health care facilities of Indian armed forces. The seminar is one its kind for enabling Medical Assistants in the Armed Forces Medical Services to improve their knowledge and understanding of the latest developments and practices of a subject. The event’s uniqueness is that it’s of the Medical Assistants, by the Medical Assistants and for the Medical Assistants.
In the course of two days, various sessions were held accompanied with interesting and scintillating discussions on contemporary topics on Wellness in the Indian armed forces through health promotions, specific protections and by early diagnosis and treatment.
This seminar also provided a forum for networking and collaboration between the Medical Assistants of the tri services, facilitating exchange of ideas on good practices and development of training strategies to cope with future combat requirements of the Armed forces. The event culminated with a quiz competition on public health for the participants.
