Lt Gen Amardeep Singh Aujla Reviews Technological Advancements at 515 Army Base Workshop, Emphasises Self-Reliance and Future-Ready Capabilities
Bengaluru, October 31, 2025. Lt Gen Amardeep Singh Aujla,PVSM, UYSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Master General Sustenance(MGS) visited 515 Army Base Workshop to review ongoing technological advancements and operational initiatives. During his visit, the general officer was briefed on the facility’s ongoing simulator manufacturing projects, which are significantly enhancing training and boosting operational readiness. He praised the workshop’s commitment to quality, resilience and self-reliance.
A highlight of the visit was the recently modernised CNC bay, which has been equipped with networked & advanced manufacturing machines to support manufacture of critical combat spares. This modernisation has resulted in improved production efficiency, precision and responsiveness, which further strengthening the logistical backbone of the Indian Army.
The progress on the upcoming Additive Manufacturing facility was shown, which will not only drive indigenous production but also position 515 Army Base Workshop as a leader in adopting advanced manufacturing for defence equipment.
The General officer emphasized that leveraging such cutting-edge technology is vital to building robust, future-ready capability within the Indian Army. He praised the workshop’s efforts and commitment to transform itself from legacy to latest state of art machinery & systems.
