Curtain Raiser on ESTIC-2025 focussing on Space Technologies theme

Bengaluru, October 23, 2025. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), under the Department of Space (DOS), organised a Curtain Raiser event for Emerging, Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC 2025) focussing on Space Technologies theme.

The event held at ISRO Headquarters, Bengaluru, on October 23, 2025, in the presence of Dr. V. Narayanan, Secretary, Department of Space / Chairman, ISRO; Mr. Rajarajan A., Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC); and Mr. M. Ganesh Pillai, Scientific Secretary, along with senior scientists, officials, and members of the media.

About ESTIC 2025

The Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC), an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, aims to bring together innovators, researchers, industry leaders, policymakers and institutions to advance India’s capabilities in science, technology and innovation.

ESTIC 2025 will serve as a dynamic platform to showcase emerging technologies, share success stories and promote cross-disciplinary collaboration. Aligned with national missions on scientific advancement and sustainable development, it envisions an inclusive, self-reliant innovation ecosystem that accelerates the translation of ideas into real-world applications for societal benefit.

Event Highlights

At the Curtain Raiser, Mr. M. Ganesh Pillai, Scientific Secretary, welcomed the dignitaries and participants. Dr. Rajeev Kumar Jaiswal, Officer on Special Duty, DOS Branch Secretariat, presented an overview of ESTIC 2025, highlighting the eleven thematic sessions and their speakers, and emphasised the significance of the Space Technologies theme.

Mr. Rajarajan A., Director, VSSC/ Chairman of Space Technologies thematic committee briefed about the vision of thematic session with focus on the “Viksit Bharat@2047. He noted DST’s leadership in organizing ESTIC 2025 and forming the Space Technologies thematic committee. The key highlights include identifying young leaders, women entrepreneurs, and industry-academia collaborations and preparing the vision document.This session will project India’s space achievements, future missions, and innovation roadmap toward 2047.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. V. Narayanan, Secretary, DOS / Chairman, ISRO, underscored the significance of initiatives like ESTIC in strengthening the country’s innovation culture. He emphasised that ISRO’s participation reflects its enduring commitment to promoting research excellence, capacity building and partnerships that drive national progress in space and allied technologies. On this occasion, he released a video on space technologies theme. Chairman highlighted the ESTIC 2025 vision to drive collaboration among ministries toward “Viksit Bharat 2047.”He emphasized showcasing deep-tech innovations, start-ups, and global scientific leadership.This event unites 13 ministries to align national priorities. He also briefed about the recent achievements and near future activities planned in the field of space.

The Curtain Raiser witnessed active participation from over fifty media persons, who interacted with ISRO officials and dignitaries during the event.
