Move Ahead in Life with Courage, Confidence and Moral Fibre to be true Assets to the Nation, DG NCC, tells NCC Cadets

Bengaluru, October 6. National Cadet Corps, Director General, Lieutenant  General, Gurbirpal Singh, PVSM, AVSM,VSM, gave a clarion call, to youth, especially the NCC Cadets, to Move ahead in Life with Courage, Confidence and Moral Fibre to be true asset to the Nation.

DG NCC, Lt. General Gurbirpal Singh, who participated as the Chief Guest at the Closing- in- Ceremony, of the All India Vayu Sainik Camp (AIVSC-2024) held at Electronic Training Institute, Air Force Station, Jalahalli, Bengaluru, gave a call to the NCC Cadets, to lead a disciplined life and put the Nation first, in whichever Profession they serve.

Sharing inspiring anecdotes from his treasure trove of experience, Lt. Gen. Gurbirpal Singh advised the cadets to strive earnestly and not give up until they Succeed.

Emphasising the increasing  role of NCC Cadets to the Society, DG, NCC urged the Cadets to be selfless while serving the Nation.

A gala award Ceremony marked the Culmination of All India Vayu Sainik Camp (AIVSC-2024). NCC Directorate, Karnataka and Goa were being Crowned Champions.

The Apex Camp of Air Wing NCC, which was conducted by NCC Karnataka and Goa, Directorate, witnessed 608 Air Wing NCC Cadets from all over the country, competing against each other in various events, that form a part of Air Wing NCC training Curriculum, to win the coveted ‘Vayu Sena Trophy’ for the Best Air Contingent.

16 Competing Directorates were represented by 38 Cadets each, who underwent intensive training over the last few months to earn their place in the contingent.

The Cadets were pitted against each other in competitions such as drill, Skeet Shooting, .22 firing, Aero modelling, as well as Field Craft.

Cadets were also assessed for their proficiency in Micro-light flying, and were also exposed to various activities with an aim to develop their personality, give them an exposure to the world aviation and to motivate them to take up a career in the armed forces.

The Cadets got an opportunity to interact with the Keynote speakers from the armed forces and to participate in an abridged training capsule conducted by the Centre for Leadership & Behavioural Studies, a Service Training Institute of IAF.

A team of Garud Commandoes, the IAF Special Forces motivated the Cadets to take up Career in Uniform.

The Winners of Various competitions were fortunate to have been awarded the Medals by Lt. General Gurbirpal Singh, Director General NCC.

With the highest Medal haul of 11 individual Medals, the contingent from NCC Directorate, Karnataka and Goa, won the ‘ Vayu Sena Trophy’ for the ‘Best Air Contingent’, for the second consecutive year.

NCC Directorate Maharastra finished as the First Runner-up.
