Desh Ke Liye Raktdaan: Gorkha Battalion Leads Blood Donation Drive in Bengaluru
Bengaluru. As a prelude to Army Day 2026, a Blood Donation Camp was organised by the Gorkha Battalion of Bison Division, based at Bengaluru, on January 5, 2026, in collaboration with Manipal Hospitals. The camp was conducted under the inspiring theme “Desh Ke Liye Raktdaan”, reflecting the selfless spirit and service ethos of the Indian Armed Forces.
The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response, with enthusiastic participation from Armed Forces personnel, their families and civilian volunteers.
The large turnout underscored the collective commitment towards saving lives and contributing meaningfully to society beyond the call of duty. Medical teams from Manipal Hospitals ensured that the donation process adhered to the highest standards of safety, hygiene and medical care.
The blood donation camp not only augmented critical blood reserves but also served as a powerful reminder of the Armed Forces’ enduring role in nation building and humanitarian service.
Through such initiatives, the Indian Army continues to foster a strong bond with the civil community while promoting awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation.
The event resonated with the core values of the Army — selfless service, discipline and commitment to the nation.
The successful conduct of the camp stands as a fitting tribute in the run-up to Army Day, reaffirming the Indian Armed Forces’ unwavering dedication to the welfare of the nation and its people.
