IATA to host global airline industry summit in Delhi after four decades
NEW DELHI. The International Air Transport Association (IATA), the global trade association representing around 340 airlines responsible for over 80 percent of global air traffic, will bring its prestigious Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the World Air Transport Summit (WATS) to Delhi from June 1 to 3, 2025. This marks the first time in over 40 years that India will host the high-level global aviation event.
The IATA AGM serves as the association’s top governance platform, where key decisions on industry and public policy issues are formalized. Alongside it, the World Air Transport Summit offers a dynamic forum for aviation leaders to engage in discussions on sustainability, safety, security, digital transformation, and other pressing matters shaping the future of air travel.
Together, the AGM and WATS represent the most significant annual gathering of airline executives worldwide. Attendance is by invitation only, limited to IATA member airlines, strategic partners, key industry stakeholders, and select members of the media.
Each year, the event is hosted in a different global city, providing local industries the chance to showcase their offerings to top figures in international aviation. In 2025, Delhi will take centrestage as the global aviation community convenes in the Indian capital.
