India AI Impact Summit 2026 set to be world’s largest global AI gathering, over 35,000 registrations received
New Delhi, February 2. The India AI Impact Summit, to be held in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, is expected to be the largest among the four global artificial intelligence summits organised so far, underscoring the rising international momentum around responsible, inclusive and impact-oriented use of AI.
According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the summit has generated unprecedented global interest, with more than 35,000 registrations already received ahead of the event. The focus of the five-day gathering will be on translating vision into action, with an emphasis on practical outcomes and real-world impact.
The summit is expected to draw participation from over 100 countries, bringing together governments, industry leaders, researchers, civil society organisations and international institutions to shape discussions on the future of AI. The event is likely to be attended by 15 to 20 heads of government, more than 50 ministers from different countries and over 40 chief executives from leading Indian and global companies. In addition, around 500 prominent stakeholders from the global AI ecosystem – including innovators, researchers and chief technology officers – are expected to take part.
Reflecting the breadth of engagement, the summit will host a showcase featuring more than 500 AI startups and will include around 500 sessions alongside the main programme, making it one of the most comprehensive global convenings focused on artificial intelligence.
Preparations for the summit have also seen wide participation. The ministry said over 1,300 proposals have been submitted for pre-summit events, with more than 500 such events already held across sectors and regions in India and abroad. The overall summit framework includes seven flagship events, which together are expected to engage more than 300,000 participants, highlighting strong national and international interest in the India AI Impact Summit process.
The global AI summit series has evolved over time, beginning with an emphasis on AI risks at Bletchley Park, followed by discussions on ethics and inclusion in Seoul, and later moving towards the operationalisation of shared principles in Paris. The India AI Impact Summit is seen as reflecting India’s expanding role in shaping global conversations on artificial intelligence.
