HQ IDS hosts CORE Programme in New Delhi to strengthen civil-military synergy
New Delhi, September 22. The Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) has launched the Combined Operational Review and Evaluation (CORE) Programme in the capital, bringing together senior officers from the armed forces and Ministries of Defence, External Affairs and Defence to deliberate on emerging security challenges. The five-day event, being held from September 22-26 at the United Service Institution of India, aims to foster civil-military engagement and strategic awareness.
The programme will focus on a wide spectrum of issues, including evolving regional and global security dynamics, the impact of technological advances on modern warfare, the role of strategic communication, and the growing need for closer coordination between civilian and military stakeholders to address multidimensional threats, according to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Defence.
Over the course of the week, participants will engage in discussions with subject matter experts and professionals from diverse fields, gaining insights into contemporary national and regional security concerns. The initiative is designed to broaden perspectives, encourage joint problem-solving, and equip officers with tools to make pragmatic and well-balanced decisions in their future leadership roles.
The CORE programme also underscores HQ IDS’s emphasis on strengthening inter-service jointness, enhancing professional competence, and preparing senior leadership to navigate the complex challenges of both national and international security.
