Benguluru. A flypast by the Dhruv ALH, a magnificent parade, an enthralling motorcycle display, a precision combat airdrop and a drone display marked the 75th Army Day on Jan 15 that was held in Bengaluru for the first time to ensure greater inclusion of the citizens.
“This has given a golden opportunity to Army to connect to the people. I am confident this will make our relations even stronger,” the Indian Army Chief, Gen Pande, who took the salute at the parade commanded by Major General Ravi Murugan, said.
Speaking on the occasion, Gen. Pande expressed concern at the terrorist infrastructure being intact on other side of border with Pakistan even as he noted that the ceasefire is intact and there has been a reduction in the number of truce violations.
“Our counter-infiltration grid is continuously thwarting infiltration bids from there,” Gen Pande said.
“However, proxy terrorist outfits to gain visibility are indulging in a new tactic of targeted killings,” he maintained.
“In Jammu and Punjab’s International Border Sector through drones drugs and weapons are being supplied. Necessary actions have been initiated through counter drone jammers and spoofers,” he said.

“There is reform and changes in the directions of betterment in the interior regions of Jammu and Kashmir. The Kashmiri common man has refuted violence and is becoming an integral part of the government plans and programmes,” he said.
On the security situation in northeastern region, Gen Pande said the Indian Army has played an important role in bringing down level of violence and making insurgents shun the path of violence.
