New York, Sep 23. India, France and the United Arab Emirates reviewed the progress of their trilateral cooperation and discussed the situation in West Asia during a ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The India-France-UAE Trilateral Ministerial Meeting on September 22 was attended by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The ministers took stock of cooperation under the trilateral framework across several areas of mutual interest, including space, artificial intelligence, and culture and heritage.
They also exchanged views on developments in West Asia and emphasised the need to further strengthen cooperation among the three countries, building on their existing close and friendly relations.
The three sides reaffirmed their commitment to developing the trilateral partnership through concrete initiatives and expanding collaboration in areas where their interests and capabilities converge.
They also agreed to hold meetings at regular intervals to review progress and identify new avenues for cooperation across mutually beneficial areas.
The India-France-UAE format brings together three countries with established economic, strategic and diplomatic ties and provides a platform for cooperation in emerging areas such as advanced technology, space and artificial intelligence, alongside wider regional and global issues.
