India, US review Strategic Partnership at Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi
New Delhi, December 10. India and the United States held Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in New Delhi on December 9, undertaking a wide-ranging review of their Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. The talks were co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to assess progress across the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation. Discussions covered trade and investment ties, defence and security collaboration, the TRUST initiative, civil nuclear and broader energy cooperation, technology partnerships, critical minerals, and efforts to build resilient and trusted supply chains.
The two delegations also exchanged views on key regional and global developments, reiterating their shared commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific. Both sides welcomed the steady momentum across institutional dialogue mechanisms and agreed to accelerate the implementation of “Catalysing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce and Technology (COMPACT) for the 21st Century,” aimed at advancing cooperation in priority sectors.
In a statement, the US Embassy in New Delhi said Under Secretary Hooker’s meeting with Misri aimed to build on the vision outlined by President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their meeting in February. The talks, the Embassy noted, focused on translating that vision into concrete initiatives that enhance US security, jobs and competitiveness while supporting India’s long-term strategic and economic goals.
Hooker underlined Washington’s intent to deepen cooperation in defence, energy, technology, space and trusted supply chains, highlighting how bilateral collaboration fuels American innovation and bolsters India’s emergence as a global technology leader. She also conveyed appreciation for India’s continued partnership as the two countries work toward shared priorities that deliver tangible benefits for both nations.
