Indian Air Force Hands Over Indigenous Radar Simulator ‘RADSIM’ to Indian Coast Guard

Bengaluru, June 26. In a significant milestone towards jointmanship, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has handed over ‘RADSIM’, an indigenously developed Radar Simulator, to the Indian Coast Guard in a formal ceremony held at Daman and Developed by the Software Development Institute (SDI) Air Force, Bengaluru, the IAF’s premier software research and development unit, RADSIM is a high-fidelity simulation system designed to replicate realistic radar and air traffic control (ATC) environments. It will be used for advanced training of radar and ATC controllers, enhancing operational readiness in complex airspace and maritime scenarios.

RADSIM was handed over by Air Vice Marshal R Guruhari, Commandant, SDI Air Force, Bengaluru and Group Captain Satvinder Singh, Chief Software Engineer. The simulator was formally received by Deputy Director General (Aviation) Inspector General Rohit Vohra, TM, Indian Coast Guard.

RADSIM enables immersive training through simulation of radar behavior and ATC operations under varied operational conditions. Its deployment with the Indian Coast Guard will significantly strengthen their controller training infrastructure and support mission-critical operations in the maritime domain. This initiative reflects the Indian Air Force’s commitment to developing indigenous technological solutions in line with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and further reinforces interoperability and jointness between the Armed Forces and the Coast Guard.

‘RADSIM is a testament to the Indian Air Force’s technological excellence and SDI’s capability to deliver operationally relevant, indigenous solutions. Its adoption by the Indian Coast Guard highlights the strength of inter-service collaboration in building a self-reliant defence ecosystem, said Air Vice Marshal R Guruhari.

Through institutions like SDI, the Indian Air Force continues to lead in the development of advanced, mission-critical software systems for India’s defence services, fostering a true synergy and Aatmanirbhar military capability.
