IndiGo celebrates Navy week with an open dialogue to encourage cross-domain learnings

New Delhi, December 7. In honour of Navy Day celebrated on December 4, 2022, IndiGo, India’s leading carrier,is organisinga series of events that aim at a better understanding of the functioning of the Indian Navy and encouraging future aviators about thecareer prospects in the industry.

IndiGo initiated the celebrations with an immersive learning experience and seminar for young aviators through a career counselling programmeat Navy Children School, New Delhi. The engagement continued with talks fornaval aviation fraternity on CRM, Risk Management & Fuel Management at INS Hansa, Navy’s premier naval air station at Dabolim, Goa.

This is being followed by a visit of IndiGo personnel with their families to Naval Ships at Mumbai. Shortly thereafter, senior officers from the Naval Air Staff and Air Maintenance Staff from Naval HQ will be visiting ISC (IndiGo’s HQ) and I Fly (IndiGo’s Training Centre) for better understanding of civil aviation operations.   Continuing the dialogue, there may also be a visit to Delhi airport for better understanding of IndiGo’s Quality Assurance System.

IndiGo has also sponsored two return air tickets each for Navy personnel from Mumbai and Goa to any domestic destination.

Lastly, IndiGo’s CSR team will visit Sankalp School for differently abled children run by NWWA for an interaction at their convenience.

Speaking on the occasion, Captain Ashim Mitra, Senior Vice-President, Flight Operations, IndiGo said, “We are pleased to organise this year’s Navy Week to open a dialogue between the Indian Navy and civil aviation industry to comprehend civil-military operations better.This will not only help us learn from each other but also strengthen appreciation for both the sides. IndiGo recognises and salutes the contribution of Indian Navy in safeguarding national interests.”

The flight operations team at IndiGo has been regularly taking up such innovative initiatives to encourage cross-domain learnings and empower the youth.
