New Delhi, July 4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 4 congratulated US President Donald Trump and the American people on the landmark 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence, describing the India-US relationship as a force for global good rooted in shared democratic values.
In a message posted on social media platform X, Modi extended greetings on behalf of India’s 1.4 billion people and underscored the enduring strength of ties between the world’s two largest democracies.
The Prime Minister said the relationship between India and the US has evolved beyond a conventional strategic partnership and is anchored in common values such as democracy, the rule of law and a shared belief in the limitless potential of their people.
“On behalf of 1.4 billion Indians, I extend my warmest congratulations to President Trump and the people of the United States on the historic 250th anniversary of your Independence,” Modi said in his message.
He added that the shared commitment to democratic principles and institutions has made the friendship between the two countries an important contributor to global peace, stability and prosperity.
Expressing optimism about the future trajectory of bilateral ties, Modi said he hoped the next 250 years would bring greater peace, progress and prosperity to the US while taking the India-US partnership to new heights.
The message comes as New Delhi and Washington continue to expand cooperation across a broad range of sectors, including defence, trade, critical technologies, energy and the Indo-Pacific, making the bilateral relationship one of the most consequential strategic partnerships of the 21st century.
