Modi, Trump review India-US ties, discuss trade, defence and regional security

New Delhi, Sep 30. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation on September 30 and reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation across trade, defence, energy and critical technologies, among other areas.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders discussed efforts to further advance the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation for the benefit of the people of both countries.

Modi and Trump also exchanged views on regional and international developments and discussed ongoing efforts to promote global peace and security.

The conversation comes as India and the United States continue to engage across a broad range of strategic and economic issues, including trade, defence cooperation, energy security and emerging technologies.

The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue their engagement on bilateral and international matters.
