Navy chief flags off car rally to strengthen outreach in Uttar Pradesh
New Delhi, September 13. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Saturday flagged off the Indian Navy’s car rally, an outreach initiative designed to connect the maritime force with citizens across Uttar Pradesh.
The eight-day rally, featuring 34 participants including serving personnel and members of the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA), will cover a 1,700-km route through Agra, Lucknow, Varanasi and Kanpur. The route has been selected to highlight the cultural richness and strategic importance of India’s heartland.
The event aims to strengthen ties with the public through a series of initiatives. These include engagement with naval veterans and Veer Naaris, support to NGOs along the route, awareness campaigns to inspire youth, showcasing NWWA’s contribution to the Skill India movement by promoting local artisans, and visits to heritage sites honouring India’s cultural legacy.
Navy officials said the rally underlines the force’s broader commitment to national integration and community outreach.
“By venturing deep into the heart of India, the Navy reaffirms its role not just as a maritime guardian, but as a pillar of unity and pride,” an official said.
