NewSpace Research and Technologies Collaborates with US Army DEVCOM for Advanced Autonomous Systems

By R Anil Kumar

New Delhi/ US, March 11. In a step towards strengthening Indo-US defence technology cooperation, NewSpace Research and Technologies (NRT), a Bengaluru Based innovator in autonomous systems has announced a strategic collaboration and technology partnership with the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Army Research Laboratory (ARL).

This partnership aims to develop and integrate cutting-edge intelligence and autonomy algorithms for multi-agent sensing and operations on Blue UAS-approved hardware.

This milestone collaboration falls under the Foreign Technology (and Science) Assessment Support (FTAS) program, which encourages the evaluation of emerging technologies that can offer strategic advantages to US Army initiatives. Notably, this is the first autonomous systems-focused FTAS between India and the US, marking a pivotal moment in cross-border defence technology integration.

Strengthening the Indo-US ICET Initiative

The Indo-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (ICET) has been a key framework driving high-tech collaborations between the two nations.

The partnership between NewSpace Research and Technologies and US Army DEVCOM aligns with this initiative, fostering deeper engagement in AI-driven autonomous systems and defence innovation.

Additionally, the collaboration will contribute to the objectives of the recently launched Autonomous Systems Industry Alliance (ASIA), further strengthening global partnerships in emerging defence technologies.

Expanding NRT’s US Presence with MOSAIC Autonomy Suite

Through this partnership, NRT aims to consolidate its presence in the US market, leveraging its proprietary Mission Oriented Scalable Architecture Intelligence & Computing (MOSAIC) suite—a collaborative autonomy platform designed for multi-agent operations in complex environments. The collaboration will also support Blue UAS and NDAA-compliant hardware, ensuring secure, resilient, and interoperable autonomous systems.

A Major Boost to India’s Defence Tech & Make in India Initiative

NRT expressed gratitude to the US Army for this opportunity, highlighting the collaboration as a reflection of India’s growing capabilities in autonomous defence technologies.

The initiative also aligns with India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and Make in India mission, showcasing India’s ability to develop indigenous, cutting-edge defence solutions that meet global security standards.

With the growing strategic partnership between India and the US in defence technology, this collaboration is expected to pave the way for future innovations in AI-driven autonomous warfare, sensor fusion, and next-generation drone operations.

As the global defence industry continues to prioritize autonomy, AI, and multi-agent collaboration, partnerships like these will play a crucial role in shaping the future of intelligent, networked combat systems.

About NewSpace Research and Technologies (NRT)

NewSpace Research and Technologies (NRT) based in Bengaluru, designs and develops Persistent Drones for Earth Observation and Communications. NRT platforms operate from 5km to 20 km with varied endurance (few days to months) NRT’s High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS) UAV would have an endurance of 3+ months and is at the cutting edge of Aerospace Technology with only a handful of global firms as competitors.

NewSpace says, this fantastic milestone will help NRT consolidate its presence in the US, with support for the Blue UAS NDAA complied hardware through our proprietary Mission Oriented Scalable Architecture Intelligence & Computing MOSAIC collaborative autonomy suite.

We are thankful to the US Army for giving us this opportunity. This is also a great manifestation of our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” mission, and a vanguard for next generation technology collaboration between two of the world’s largest democracies and trading partners.
