Passing Out Parade: A Proud Milestone of Discipline, Dedication and Military Excellence
Bengaluru, May 30, 2026. The parade grounds of Madras Engineering Group and Centre once again came alive with pride, precision and Military splendour on May 30, 2026, as the Passing out Parade (POP) was conducted for 2,181 Agniveers marking the successful completion of their rigorous Military Training.
The occasion marked a significant milestone in the journey of the Agniveers who after months of demanding training and unwavering perseverance are now prepared to move ahead and serve the Nation with honour and dedication. The ceremony stood as a symbol of transformation, discipline and the fighting spirit instilled during training.
The ceremonial parade, held at the iconic Govindaswamy Drill Square, was a magnificent display of Military precision and discipline. The smartly turnout Agniveers marched in perfect synchronisation to the stirring tunes of the Military Band displaying exceptional standards of turnout, confidence and drill. Their impressive performance reflected the high standards of training imparted at the Centre and the proud tradition of the Madras Sappers.
The Passing out Parade was graced by a distinguished Reviewing Officer, Brigadier Ajay Singh Thakur, Commandant, Madras Engineer Group and Centre, who congratulated the passing out Agniveers for their successful completion of the training and appreciated their dedication, determination and professionalism demonstrated through the course. Addressing the Agniveers, the Reviewing Officer highlighted the importance of discipline, integrity, courage and commitment in Military life and encouraged the young soldiers to uphold the values and traditions of the Indian Army in all future assignments.
To honour the role of the families who stand behind these soldiers, the “Gaurav Padak” was presented to the proud parents of the Passing Out Agniveers. In a poigant moment, parents participated in the ceremony by donning their sons with the rank insignia of “Thambi Sapper” marking their transition from trainees to soldiers of the Indian Army. Their participation added emotional value and made the event a cherished moment for all present at the occasion.
The Centre also ensured comprehensive arrangements to facilitate a comfortable experience for the visiting families including reception and transportation. Officers and staff interacted warmly with family members and shared in their pride and joy.
The Passing out Parade was more than a ceremonial event, it represented the culmination of hard work, determination and Military excellence, reaffirming the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to producing disciplined and capable soldiers ready to serve the Nation with honour.
