IndiGo launches 2nd ifly facility in Bangalore

Reinforcing its commitment to augment the Learning and Development footprint, India’s leading airline, IndiGo, has today announced the extension of its learning academy, ifly to Bangalore. The learning academy, ifly, has been instrumental in extending trainings to IndiGo employees. ifly specializes in facilitating specific trainings throughout the year which include,customer services, ramp and marshalling training, communication and leadership training, departure control system, safety and emergency procedures, and e-learning amongst other training modules.

At the inauguration, Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, President and Chief Operating Officer and Mr. Raj Raghavan, Senior Vice President – Human Resources, IndiGo said, “We are pleased to announce the launch of our 2nd ifly facility in Bangalore today. This launch is in line with our endeavour to make IndiGo India’s best company to work for. In the last one year, we have had 114 batches of cabin crew (2400 cabin attendants) and 27 batches of JFO’s (500 pilots) graduate. In addition, we have had 300 engineering, 1330 Airport operations and Customer services (AOCS) and 1500 Security colleagues graduate out of various programs at ifly. ifly truly has been instrumental in nurturing the culture of the company and with this extension we will continue to strive to provide more conducive working culture for 6E employees.”

Commenting on the launch, Ms. Summi Sharma, Vice President, ifly Learning Academy, IndiGo said, “We are proud to institute the ifly learning academy in Bangalore that will deliver world-class customised training programmes to our employees, creating pipeline of leaders across streams. ifly represents the spirit of IndiGo wherein we place a lot of emphasis on individual empowerment to ensure that every employee holds true to our promise of on-time, courteous and hassle-free service. Owing to consistent evolution of training and best practices, IndiGo’s ifly was recently recognised for best Learning and Development practices at TATA Institute of Social Sciences and LeapVault CLO Awards 2019 for the 5th consecutive year. ifly also bagged a gold for the Best Customer Service Training Program and Best Risk/Safety/Policy Compliance Training Program, while finishing with a silver for Best Simulations Based Learning Program, Best Leadership Development Program and Best Quality Management/ Improvement Training Program.
