Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group to Invest ₹600+ Crore in Telangana Superalloy Manufacturing Facility

Hyderabad. Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group, on July 23, 2026 announced the establishment of a 50-acre integrated superalloy manufacturing facility in Telangana with a planned investment of over ₹600 crore. The announcement was made on the opening day of the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, one of the world’s leading aerospace and defence exhibitions.

The facility will be among India’s few integrated manufacturing plants for high-quality nickel-based superalloys, combining state-of-the-art vacuum melting process, forging, heat treatment, vacuum casting, powder metallurgy and other forming capabilities under one roof. Designed with an annual production capacity of approximately 5,000 tonnes, it will manufacture round bars, wires, forgings, castings, tungsten carbide powders and other specialised products. Commercial production is targeted to commence in January 2028.

The project will be led by Dr. S.K. Jha, former Chairman and Managing Director of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani), India’s premier special metals manufacturer. His appointment brings decades of expertise in strategic materials and reinforces the Group’s commitment to building a globally competitive superalloy manufacturing ecosystem in India.

Nickel-based superalloys are critical for aero engines, space systems, defence platforms, gas turbines, oil & gas, nuclear energy, medical implants and emerging hydrogen technologies. India currently imports a significant share of its nickel alloy requirements, making domestic production strategically important for strengthening the country’s aerospace and defence manufacturing capabilities.

For Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group, the new facility represents a major step towards vertical integration by securing access to critical raw materials for its aerospace, defence and energy businesses while also serving India’s growing aerospace and defence supply chain. The Group has already received customer support for product and process qualification required for commercial production.

The launch was marked at Farnborough International Airshow 2026, in the presence of Sri Ravi Kota, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL); Dr. S. Dwarakanath, Director General of Aerospace India Association; Vamsi Vikas Ganesula, Managing Director of Raghu Vamsi Group; Siva Arvinth, CEO; and Shaun Newby, UK Head.
