  • MoU will enable GAL-AMMROC and Yahsat to access vertical growth opportunities and expand service offering for key customers
  • The companies will explore localizing engineering and modifications certification services for airborne platforms

Abu Dhabi. On February 22, GAL-AMMROC (Global Aerospace Logistics – Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Center), a leading provider of integrated aviation services announces a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PJSC (“Yahsat” or “the Group”), the UAE’s flagship satellite solutions provider listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, to expand airborne services for the UAE and regional market.

The MoU was formalized at a signing ceremony at IDEX 2023, the premier defence exhibition and conference in the Middle East, by Mahmood Al Hameli, GAL-AMMROC Chief Executive Officer and Eisa Al Shamsi, General Manager at Yahsat Government Solutions (“YGS”).The signing ceremony was witnessed by Ali Al Hashemi, Chief Executive Officer at Yahsat Group and Chairman of GAL.

The agreement will enable GAL-AMMROC and Yahsat to leverage synergies across their respective product and service portfolios to offer comprehensive engineering and support services for customers in the UAE – creating an end-to-end service provider for the aviation systems industry. The agreement marks a significant step forward in localizing various engineering services for airborne platform operations, providing a comprehensive range of aviation services to GAL-AMMROC and Yahsat’s government customers in the UAE and MENA region.

By leveraging their joint capabilities, GAL-AMMROC and Yahsat will provide integrated solutions and services more effectively, while also building robust capabilities in the UAE for servicing airborne platforms. The agreement will further allow GAL-AMMROC to build on Yahsat’s ICT systems integration expertise across airborne platforms around beyond line of sight (BLoS) and other satellite enabled applications.

Together GAL-AMMROC and Yahsat will be able to address untapped requirements and serve their customers under one umbrella. The companies will expand their offerings from ICT system acquisitions, design, modification and installation to follow on support services. These synergies will enable a larger market share and will provide the customer financial and operational optimization.

Mahmood Al Hameli, GAL-AMMROC, CEO, commented: “This is a strategic partnership agreement that we’re very pleased to be signing with Yahsat, which will enhance our capabilities for airborne platforms with integrating ICT systems support to better serve existing and new customers in the UAE and beyond. This agreement is aligned with our commitment to explore new opportunities and strengthen our global position as an integrated aviation services company, while supporting the UAE Government’s vision to build world-class industries.”

Eisa Al Shamsi, General Manager at Yahsat Government Solutions, said: “We are excited to enter a strategic partnership with GAL-AMMROC to expand our service offerings in the aviation systems industry. This agreement marks a step forward in our efforts to contribute to providing comprehensive end-to-end aviation services to our government customers in the UAE and beyond while strengthening our portfolio within the integrated ICT managed solutions space. By leveraging operational synergies, expertise and knowledge – across secure communications solutions and engineering – we can effectively address the evolving needs of our clients while building local capabilities to build a robust national platform for the aviation industry. This partnership reinforces our commitment to supporting the growth of the UAE capabilities to better serve our customers.”
