Rolls-Royce partners with SNC on US Air Force Survivable Airborne Operations Center

On May 22, Rolls-Royce announced it is part of the team, led by prime contractor SNC, that is supporting the Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) recapitalization program for the United States Air Force. The SAOC aircraft provides top military leaders with a highly survivable command, control and communications platform to direct US forces in the midst of a potential national emergency.

Adam Riddle, President – Defense for Rolls-Royce plc and Chairman & CEO of Rolls Royce North America, said: For decades, Rolls-Royce has powered military operations around the world with reliable, cutting-edge technologies – safely transporting service members on their missions. Now, we are proud to pair our proven pedigree with the collective expertise of SNC and the rest of the SAOC team to ensure our military leaders have the platform to protect our national security when it matters most.”

The SAOC aircraft is a key component of the National Military Command System, serving as the National Airborne Operations Center.

Jon Piatt, Executive Vice President of SNC’s IAS business area commented: “SNC is very excited to collaborate with Rolls-Royce, putting its vast experience to work on this crucial Air Force mission. We are certain that Rolls-Royce will prove a valuable partner in maintaining a strategic edge to protect the country when it matters most.”
