Suhora partners with Azista to boost satellite data capabilities, upgrades SPADE platform on first anniversary
New Delhi, December 9. Suhora Technologies has expanded its role in India’s emerging commercial space ecosystem by signing a partnership with Azista Industries to bring Azista’s operational satellite, ABA First Runner (AFR1), onto its SPADE satellite data aggregation and analytics platform. The announcement was made in New Delhi on December 9 as Suhora also rolled out major upgrades to SPADE to mark the platform’s first year of operations.
Azista’s AFR1 is a high-resolution multispectral satellite equipped with a 4.6-metre ground sampling capability, a panchromatic sensor and six multispectral bands. Its advanced maritime mode is expected to significantly strengthen Suhora’s suite of ocean and naval surveillance tools. The integration is seen as a boost to India’s fast-expanding commercial satellite data market, a segment expected to drive the next phase of growth in the country’s space sector through downstream applications.
Over its first year, Suhora’s cloud-based SPADE platform has evolved into a broad multi-sensor data hub, now drawing from over 250 Indian and foreign satellites and covering up to 10 million sq km. Since launch, it has tasked imagery for more than 1.33 million sq km, underscoring its rapid adoption across sectors.
The platform’s new features include an improved tasking window visualisation tool to help users identify satellite pass opportunities, a bulk-tasking module for large orders, and easier access to free datasets from ISRO, Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2. SPADE now also offers value-added analytical products such as DTM/DSM generation, InSAR analysis and NDVI assessments for applications spanning agriculture, environment monitoring, defence and disaster management.
Suhora CEO and co-founder Krishanu Acharya said the collaboration with Azista strengthens efforts to enhance India’s domestic satellite data capabilities, noting that SPADE has grown into a “sensor-agnostic” platform integrating optical, SAR, thermal and hyperspectral streams. He added that Suhora will continue adding sensors based on user needs.
Azista Industries Director Sunil Indurti said AFR1’s onboarding onto SPADE will make high-quality multispectral data accessible to more users, calling the partnership a reflection of the growing strength of India’s private space sector and its push for self-reliance in satellite technology.
