The FOCinC (West) spoke about regional security challenges and highlighted the 24×7 deployment of ships, submarines, and aircraft by the Western Naval Command (WNC) to maintain and ensure maritime security and safeguard national interests. The members of the media were appraised about the initiatives and milestones achieved by the WNC over the past year, including Op Sindoor, mission-based deployments, exercises with foreign navies, security, safety, humanitarian aid, anti-narcotics and anti-piracy operations and disaster relief.
The Commander-in-Chief reiterated that the nation’s economic prosperity, strategic independence and comprehensive national power are deeply intertwined with the seas. It was therefore imperative that the multiplicity of trends, threats and challenges in the geopolitical and geo-economic environment are closely monitored to secure our nation and the citizens.
